Just wanted to thank everyone for their hard work that made this event so successful. It was our first time competing and we had a really good time. Looking forward to coming back next year. Thanks again.

This year’s Kids Lit Quiz was an astounding success with several Kirklees schools taking part including Scissett Middle School, St John Fisher Catholic School, Gomersal CE(C) Middle School, Colne Valley High School, Holmfirth High School, Whitechapel Middle School, Honley High School and Kirkburton Middle School who won fourth place!
The event opened at North Light Gallery with an impressive musical performance from Scissett Middle school, and special guest harpists from Silcoates School. Author Penny Dolan was also on hand to sign prizes and chat to the kids.
Quiz Master Wayne Mills managed the quiz as in previous years and everyone held high spirits throughout the event. Plus a big chocolate cake to celebrate the event kept a smile on everyone’s’ face!
Beckfoot School from Bradford won first place and will attend the National Final on the 3rd November.
Thankyou and well done to all schools who attended and the staff who made this event possible!
