South West England 16 Nov

What an exhuberant heat and so well attended by over 75 parents, grandparents, librarians and teachers. The hall was filled to capacity and was only one team short of the record set by the Yorkshire heat. This was a night to remember for when the results came in from both the manual count and from the electronic scoring Truro School had amassed a record breaking 96 points.Prizes were handed out by local Cornish author Chris Higgins. Such a fantastic result-well done. And a special thanks to the three students who prepared the supper as part of their citizenship award- we were spoilt for choice.
Keep that reading going

Thank you, Wayne, for a really great Quiz - again! We are aiming to break the record for the number of teams next year - and people are already signing up....
All the teams showed a great knowledge of a wide variety of literature, with the Truro 2 team being truly spectacular to watch. We wish them all the best for the UK Final on 3rd December.
Thanks, too, to Wadebridge School for the use of the hall, and to all the staff and students for their support.

Great to hear the heats are going so well. Looking forward to the north west heat at the University of Bolton tomorrow - we're not quite up to Yorkshire's standard but we'll certainly be filling the room with 31 teams and loads of spectators.
